Welcome to the memorial page for

Arlin Reed Ewell

February 4, 1928 ~ August 9, 2017 (age 89)

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Arlin Reed Ewell, rightfully received his angel wings and  returned home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.  Arlin was born on February 4, 1928 to Zachariah Henry Ewell and Alice Tamer Taylor at home in Genola, Utah, the 12th of 14 children.

Though his death was difficult dad never lost his happy outlook on life. He loved and recognized the beauty of the world he lived in. Dad knew how to live in the moment and did everything with passion. He knew how to work, he took time to play, and he knew how to love. His values and beliefs reflected in everything he did.  Dad loved to work with his hands. If you ever saw them it showed. He served his fellow man and his country by enlisting in the Army. However, his service did not stop there. He gave what he could to anyone who would accept it.

Dad graduated from Brigham Young University with a teaching degree. He taught school for 33 years at Goshen Elementary School in Goshen, Utah. He loved learning, reading, being outside, playing games, music, dancing and spending time with his family. He loved serving in his church and living as his Savior asked of him.

Dad is survived by his truest love, his wife Annie Ruth Banks; his children Reed (Linda), Randy (Gay), Kurt (Rebecca), Allen (Sherrie), Mary Ann (Spencer), Marilyn (Gregg), Merlene, Maleesa, Bruce (Regina), Melanie (Mason), Gina, Keauna (Deon), Shaylauna (Jimmy); 41 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; his sisters Udean Camp and Shirley (Darwin) Jackman.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and son (Corey).

Dad lived 89 beautiful years and we are going to miss him very much. Dad, we cannot wait to join you in the beautiful home you are building for us in heaven. We love you.
