Lillian Esther (Freese) Rittmanic

January 8, 1926 ~ August 1, 2018 (age 92)

Lillian Esther Freese Rittmanic graduated from this life with honors in Lehi, Utah on the beautiful morning of August 1, 2018.  She was 92 years old.  She was the best listener and was constantly reminding others that they were of great worth and that each person was a child of God with unlimited potential.

She was born January 8, 1926 to John H. Freese and Elizabeth E. Behrends in Monticello, Iowa.  She is survived by her brother Loren Freese (Lois) of Monticello, Iowa; her children, Kathy Ross of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Teresa Moore (Gary) of Cedar Hills, Utah, Mark Rittmanic (Diane) of Winnetka, Illinois, John Rittmanic (Janae) of Payson, Utah, Matthew Rittmanic (Sandra) of Provo, Utah; and by 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Lillian left the farm in Monticello, Iowa at 21 and headed to Chicago Vogue Art Academy. While in art school, as a young student, she painted a significant restaurant mural that was 75 feet long. Her talent continued to bless the lives of many and she exited mortality with wet paint on her palette. She met and married Bud Rittmanic and together they raised five children.  Later, she continued her college in Florida and earned a drafting degree and worked for Harris Corporation as a draftsperson on first-generation fiber optic layouts.

Lillian was born into the Lutheran faith and began attending the Catholic Church, after marriage, while raising her children.  She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 1, 1973 in Florida.  Generations before and after have been and will be blessed by her courage and beautiful testimony of the Gospel that she lived.

Lillian will always be remembered for building the faith and spirit of all those who had the privilege of knowing her for a moment or a lifetime.

Flowers can be sent and funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel located at 3396 North 900 West, Pleasant Grove, Utah. There will be an opportunity for friends and family to gather Saturday, August 4, 2018 beginning at 12:00. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm followed by a graveside service at East Lawn Cemetery in Provo. In lieu of flowers, donations to her memorial can be sent to Matthew Rittmanic at 1016 Cinnamon Hills Dr., Provo, UT  84606.

We express our deepest gratitude to all those that loved Lillian and contributed so much joy to her and our family.
