Ada Lorena Thorvaldson Henderson Johnson, age 101, passed away July 26, 2012 in Santaquin. She was born October 2, 1910 in Tintic Junction, Utah to Thurber and Ada Leona Dixon Thorvaldson. She married Clarence Henderson May 9, 1928 in Salt Lake City. He died October of 1947. She later married Doyle George Johnson October 3, 1963 in Salt Lake City and he also preceded her in death.

Ada loved to sew, knit, crochet and cook, a skill she learned from her mother. She raised 3 daughters and was widowed at age 37. To earn money she waitressed, candled eggs, made bullets in a factory during WWII, sold Studio Girl cosmetics door to door for years, worked as a housekeeper for a family in Salt Lake City and served as a cook for two years at an LDS Mission Home in Chicago. With Doyle Johnson she served in the Provo Temple for 16 years as a temple worker. In 1989 she moved to Santaquin to live with her daughter, Merle. She loved spending the rest of her life with the family.

Survivors include her daughter, Merle Henderson (Sherman) Jones, Santaquin; brother, Joel Dixon Thorvaldson; son-in-law, Blain Jones, Layton; son-in-law, Kenneth (Audrey) Fowles, Delta; grandchildren, Lamarr & Cindy Jones, Payson, Rene' Collett, Springville, Russell & Deb Jones, Delta, Aaron & Julie Jones, Santaquin, Kevin & Cheryl Jones, Delta, Norman & Carolyn Jones, Provo, Janiece Jones, Layton, Ross & Leslie Jones, San Antonio, Texas, Sherrie & Greg Nielson, Alpine, Randy & Rebecca Fowles, Delta, Lisa Fowles, Delta; 72 great grandchildren and 70 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Jones and Bernice Fowles, three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 31st at 11:00 am at the Santaquin 3rd Ward, 45 South 500 West. Friends may call at the Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Monday 7 to 9 pm and and Tuesday at the church from 9:00 to 10:45 am prior to services. Interment, Santaquin Cemetery.
