A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and great great grandmother, Arlene Pay Hone, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 30, 2025. She was born April 27, 1934 in Perry Utah, to Richard Raymond and Norma Crowther Pay. She was the oldest of 3 children. She had a younger brother, Cliff (DeAnn) Pay and a younger sister Becky (Keith) Sperry.
Arlene spent her life growing up in Nephi, where she graduated from Juab High School. Arlene married Boyce LaVell Hone on February 26, 1955 in the Manti Temple. They made their first home in Spanish Fork, Utah for most of their lives and then moved to Benjamin, and when they later retired, moved to Santaquin. They raised 6 children Karen (Charley) Reese, Alan (Mary) Hone, Barbara (Paul) Spainhower, Teresa Hone, Kris Jensen and Carla (Brent) Garner.
Arlene was loved by everyone. She had so much love for her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a way of making everyone feel loved. She was a great example to all those she associated with, she will be truly missed by everyone. She loved watching any kind of sports. Arlene and LaVell loved to watch women’s softball and for many years traveled around with their daughter Teresa as she played softball. She loved watching the Utah Jazz and BYU play. She loved traveling with LaVell where they made many new friends everywhere they went.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. In May 1998 her and LaVell went on a humanitarian service mission to Desert Farms Sacramento, California and Cactus Lane Ranch in Waddell, Arizona. They loved serving and using their talents to help others and made many friends.
She left a legacy for all of her cherished children, 20 grandchildren 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She we be truly missed by all of those that knew her, but she is having a joyous reunion with her husband LaVell, her parents Ray and Norma and a great grandson Nolan.
We want to thank all those that have taken the time to help her for the past few years, Paige Steele, Chelsea Gillen and all those that have volunteered their time and talents.
There will be a small service at Brown Family Mortuary in Santaquin, Utah on Saturday January 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm followed by the burial in the Benjamin Cemetery.
