Betty Walker

September 24, 1923 — April 22, 2011

Betty Mickelson Walker, our dearest mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully April 22, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born September 24, 1923 in Mammoth, Utah to her loving parents, William Andrew and Nettie Pauline Schwab Mickelson. She had two brothers, William Lewis and Donald LeRoy, and a sister, Lorna Jean. She was a devoted daughter and sister.

In June 1942 Betty married Melvin L. Walker. They were blessed with one son, Franklin L. Walker. She loved spending time with her family and often talked about fishing trips to Fish Lake, outings to Cherry Creek with her mother and siblings, and cooking holiday dinners. She loved gardening and always had the most beautiful tulips come springtime. She was a very outgoing person and would make life-long friends with everyone she met. Her sense of humor and positive attitude would always bring a smile to everyone. Even in her last days she was still trying to make light of her situation. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Franklin (Okhui) Walker, and grandsons, Joseph and Franklin Walker, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sister.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27th at 11:00 am at the Eureka LDS Chapel where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Eureka City Cemetery under the direction of Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, Santaquin.
