With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, Brannon William Neff. Brannon passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Virginia.
Brannon was born on January 31, 1967, in Provo, Utah, to William Edward and Mary Patrick Neff. He was the second of five children, and from the start, his cherubic round face and sparkling blue eyes brought love, joy, and laughter into the family. A happy child with a gentle spirit, Brannon had a special love for animals and the outdoors. He especially cherished time spent camping, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding with his father and brother.
He graduated from Springville High School in 1985, where he participated in many school activities and excelled in sports, especially baseball. Gifted with natural athletic talent, Brannon loved playing baseball, football, and wrestling throughout his youth.
On March 9, 1991, Brannon married his sweetheart, Julie Ann Almond, in Mapleton, Utah. Together they welcomed two beloved daughters, Sarah Ann and Megan Lee, whom Brannon adored. His love for his girls was deep and unwavering, and he later found immense joy in being a grandfather to Piper and Dawson.
Brannon had a vibrant sense of humor and a generous heart. He was known for his kindness, integrity, and his ability to lead by quiet example. He accepted others as they were and freely gave his time and talents to those in need. His calm wisdom and strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Brannon had a lifelong love of learning. He was a handyman who could fix just about anything, and he had a passion for reading, good food, nature, astronomy, the ocean, and travel. He found joy in stars overhead, the sand beneath his feet, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors.
Professionally, Brannon was deeply skilled and dedicated. Over the course of 23 years, he managed complex, high-value construction projects with precision and care. His work included major contributions to institutions such as Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Timpanogos Hospital, BlueCross BlueShield, UVU’s McKay Events Center and Pope Science Building, BYU, and Kennecott. One of his proudest accomplishments was his work at the Dinosaur National Monument – Quarry Exhibit Hall, where he played a key role in upgrading the structure while carefully preserving the 1,500 dinosaur fossils housed there.
In the last decade of his career, Brannon transitioned to the solar and renewable energy industry, helping communities around the world—from Africa to the East Coast of the U.S in accessing clean energy. This work became a new passion and purpose for him.
Brannon is survived by his daughters, Sarah Ann Neff (Brett Prince) and Megan Lee Neff; his grandchildren, Piper and Dawson Prince; his mother, Mary Patrick Neff; his siblings, Natalie (Shane) Johnson, Nannette (Clint) Jackson, Heather Neff, and Brett (Kim) Neff.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julie Ann, and his father, William Edward Neff.
Brannon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is because of our Savior Jesus Christ that we can find peace, comfort and healing for our broken hearts. Because our Savior is not only our redeemer, but a restorer, we find great comfort knowing Brannon and Julie are reunited once more. He will be missed, more than words can say, but we know that we will see him again and be together once more as a family.
Brannon’s absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory, his love, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to inspire us all.
He will be laid to rest in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
