In Loving Memory of DeLaine Elizabeth Askelson-Walker

DeLaine Elizabeth Askelson-Walker, age 58, passed away on July 25, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1967, in Fremont, California, to Debra Ann Donnatello-Adams and David Ray Askelson. 

DeLaine spent her childhood and early years growing up in Fremont. For the past 26 years, she lived in Utah, where she built lasting friendships and created many cherished memories. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Cody McClain Farham, and her brother, David Joshua Askelson. DeLaine is survived by her loving son, Christopher James Askelson; her mother, Debra Ann Donnatello-Adams; her father, David Ray Askelson; her sister, Deseret Lynn Askelson-Poole; her brother, Danial Bingham Lee Askelson; her stepbrother, Max David Sabel and his wife, Luz; her stepbrother, Alejandro David Sabel; her stepsister, Janet Lee Sabel-Miller and her husband, Matt; her stepbrother, Bryan Quesenberry and his wife, Jana; and her stepmother Muriel (Mim) Askelson, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her. The greatest love of DeLaine's life was her dogs. She had a deep compassion for all animals and dreamed of one day owning a farm where she could care for as many animals as possible. Although she was not able to fulfill that dream, those who knew her will always remember the kindness and love she freely gave to every animal she met. Her caring heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her pets will remain a lasting part of her legacy. 

DeLaine will be remembered for her love of family, her generous heart, and the joy she found in caring for the animals she treasured. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

Viewing and funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 350 West 860 North, Santaquin. The viewing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Santaquin City Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of DeLaine to celebrate her life.
