Michael Dennis Christensen, age 82, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on August 18, 2025. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was born in Santaquin, Utah on February 17, 1943 to Michael Beveridge Christensen & Marjorie Blanche Painter. He married Cheryl Ann Gee on June 5, 1965 in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. Cheryl passed away in 2010. Dennis later married Carolyn Mayer, on November 3, 2012 and was sealed to her in the Draper, Utah LDS Temple on November 9, 2013. Carolyn passed away in 2021.
Dennis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full-time mission to Holland in the Netherlands. He also served faithfully in various other callings throughout his life, including Scout Master and High Priest Group Leader. He especially enjoyed serving in the Jordan River and Draper Utah Temples.
Dennis was preceded in death by his two eternal companions, Cheryl and Carolyn, by his mother and father, and by his sister Glenys McKell.
He is survived by his sister Emilee Christensen (Santaquin, Utah) and his five children: Michele (Don) Copeland (Murfreesboro, Tennessee), Michael (Mary) Christensen (West Jordan, Utah), Mark Christensen (Middleton, Idaho), Dan (Amy) Christensen (Taylorsville, Utah) Jeff (Lisyl) Christensen (Lehi, Utah). Stepchildren: Linda (Rick) Smith (West Jordan, Utah), Christi A. (Dave) McClung (St. George, Utah), Brent D. (Jessica) Lloyd (West Jordan, Utah), and Kevin S. (Maren) Lloyd (Cottonwood Heights, Utah), and all of his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Mount Jordan 4th Ward Building, 235 East 9800 South, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Monday evening August 25th in the same building from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
