Doug Peterson

Steven Douglas Peterson, better known as Doug, passed away at age 61 on June 8, 2025 at Elk Ridge Assisted Living Center. A graveside service will be held at the Santaquin City Cemetery on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 10 AM with a celebration of life to follow at the family home.

Doug was born in Twin Falls, ID on October 6, 1963 to Robert and Doris Peterson. He attended Twin Falls High School, attended Ricks College for a year, and then went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Santiago, Chile. When he returned, he attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a degree in Spanish and went on to get a Master of Public Administration degree where he met his wife Lisa. He worked as a legislative auditor for over a quarter of a century, working closely with the Utah and Nevada legislatures. He was an avid sci-fi fan and loved technology, always acquiring the newest gadgets.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lisa, his three children, Jessica, Adam (Katelin), and Quinn (Emma), and his only grandchild Andy.

He will be remembered for his quiet constancy, his love of animals, and his unfailing service to his community.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Santaquin City Cemetery.
