Edith White

Edith Lucile Burraston White, age 91 of Goshen, died July 6, 2009 peacefully at her home. She was born May 21, 1918 in Goshen to Warren and Sarah Werrett Burraston. She married George Harold White on May 6, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died May 27, 1989.

Edith attended schools in Goshen and Payson and graduated from Payson High School. She was active in the LDS church where she served as a Stake Missionary, Primary President, in the Sunday School, MIA and genealogy home extraction, and other church callings. She served a mission with her husband in 1984 to Mississippi in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission, the same area where her father served 82 years earlier. Edith cared for her elderly mother at home for many years and will always be remembered for her intense love and dedication to her children and family.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Larry White (Jeanie) of Richfield, Paul White of Goshen, and Janice Rindlisbacher (Mark) of Anchorage, Alaska; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers, Sterling Burraston (Goshen), Kenneth Burraston (Goshen), and Marvin Burraston (Riverdale).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 am at the Goshen LDS Stake Center, 70 South Center. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Burial, Goshen Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin.
