Elizabeth (Betty) Evans Pendleton, 86, died Saturday May 27, 2011 from natural causes. She was born December 27, 1924 to Irma Adell Gardner and Edmund Roger Evans in West Jordan, Utah the second child in a family of seven. Betty married Fay Owen Pendleton on May 26, 1945 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 16, 1951. Owen died in 2007.

Betty was a faithful Latter-day Saint, and she worked in the primary for years. She loved children and every child she met loved her. She had a talent for making everyone feel at ease. Visitors were always greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. She opened her home to nieces and nephews who were attending BYU, and each valued the time with her.

Owen's work took them around the world, to Chili, Greece, Australia, Pennsylvania and southern Utah. When Owen retired they moved to Springville, Utah. She crocheted and did beautiful handwork. She had extensive collections; original paintings, buttons, books, dishes. Betty was an avid reader often completing a novel a day. She kept pictures of her family on every available wall space. She remembered the names of great nieces and nephews, and they remember sliding down the stairs in her house, drinking "pink milk", and petting the big dogs. She spent her last years at Latter Days Assisted Living in Santaquin. The loving and kind care she received from the staff made her life pleasant. Paula Evans, a niece, treated Betty as a mother, and Betty loved her as a daughter.

Betty left behind son Frank, Grandson Shawn Owen Pendleton and wife Kelly, two great grandsons Shawn Kelly and Kai Thomas Pendleton, brother George G. Evans (Paula), and a sister Jean (Irvine) Bingham, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Mark, and her husband Owen.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Stake Center, 1250 S. 500 E., Springville, Utah. Friends may call one hour before the service. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville.
