Elwin also enjoyed survival trips to the Escalante & Boulder areas.
In the spring of 1982, Elwin met the love of his life, Cheri Ruffell, they married on June 3, 1983, in Goshen, UT. “She is the best thing that happened to me.” On May 2, 1991, they made their family eternal in the Manti Temple.
Elwin loved spending time with his grandkids and would get a huge smile when they would ask to do chores with him which would often involve getting to ride the horse. He also enjoyed taking them fishing and sharing his love of the outdoors.
