Gary Lynn Johnson

Gary Lynn Johnson passed away December 4, 2025 in Provo, Utah. Gary was born February 21, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Carol Johnson and William Freeman Johnson. He was the third child of seven born into the family.

In his youth, Gary loved to ride the family’s Shetland pony as well as his unicycle. He loved performing stunts and teaching others how to ride it. He was also an avid body builder.

Gary enlisted in the army when he turned 18 and spent three years assigned to the army airborne division. Most of his time was spent in Germany rigging parachutes.

Gary later met Christine Christensen, and they were ultimately married and spent 41 years together.

As an adult, Gary liked camping rough, hiking, and woodworking, He also enjoyed the company of his many lifelong pets.

Gary is survived by his wife, Christine, his mother, Carrol Johnson, siblings Bill Johnson, Karl (Greta) Johnson, Keith Johnson, Connie (Danny) Gallegos, Allen Johnson and Michelle (Les) Johnson. He was preceded by his father Bill Johnson.

Don't put me in a cold steel box in a hole of earth and rocks.

Let fire cure my body ills, and free my spirit as God wills.

Then let the ashes that remain become a part of sun and rain.

And settle on the mountains high where flowers smile up to the sky...

And let my spirit drift forever as "Drift Wood" on the river.
