Hattie Ahlin

April 8, 1916 — January 24, 2008

Laura Hattie Coombs Ahlin is once again in the loving arms of her sweetheart Earnest and her son Joe. Hattie joined them on January 24, 2008, what an awesome reunion. She was 91 years young. She was born April 8, 1916 to Frank and Laura Coombs. She had two brothers, Clyde and Ralph, and one sister, Rhea. She married her one true love Earnest Ahlin August 29, 1934. They were sealed in the Provo Temple August 31, 1977. Earnest and Hattie had a fun-filled life together. They raised two sons, Joe in 1941 and Shayne in 1961, it was a wonderful surprise when Shayne was born. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising cattle, and spending time with friends and family. Earnest died in 1977. Hattie was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many church callings including Primary teacher, ward librarian, where she served with her best friend Betty Wall, and her most cherished calling was working in the Provo Temple. Hattie kept very busy, some of her favorite things were; crossword puzzles, Solitaire, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Lawrence Welk, thick white bread, apricot jam, crocheting, grandchildren, family and friends. Her family includes a son Shayne (Tresa) Ahlin, granddaughters Natasha (Luke), Nikki, Erika, and Neena, and great-grandchildren Delilah, Mack and Ace. Another son, Joe (deceased) Ahlin (Lynne), grandchildren Jay, Lori and Brett, and great-grandchildren Joseph, Makaylah, and Jason. Thanks to her many friends who cared for her, and her niece RaNae Etherington for all her tender loving care. Thanks to her special hospice nurse Jason. Grandma we know you are dancing now. Funeral services will be Monday, January 28th at 11:00 in the Santaquin LDS church at 545 North 200 East. Friends may call at Holladay-Brown Funeral Home 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, on Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Santaquin Cemetery.
