Hilton Eldon Cornwell, 86, passed away peacefully May 7, 2011 in Provo. He was born November 14, 1924 in Salem, Utah to John L. and Donna Hopkins Cornwell. Hilton married Marie Harvey in 1947. Together they were blessed with 7 children. He married Verna Joy Rowley in 1977.

Hilton worked for the Department of Transportation as a Highway Inspector. He was a member of the LDS Church and loved serving others. He enjoyed trains, roses, history, baseball and his 57 Triumph Herald, and being a member of the Jamestown Bell Choir. He had a great love of the Armed Services and was a true patriot.

Hilton is survived by 6 children & 3 step children, John & Marie, Bruce & Allison, Melanie & David Boles, Gary and Sharleen, Jess & Debbi, Amy & Mike Isom, Debbi & Brett Spendlove, Shawn Mecham, Becki & Jeff Friend; 41 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Marie, their son Alan, Verna and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12th at 11:00 am at the Provo Slate Canyon 4th Ward, 715 South Utah Avenue (1100 East) where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be Friday at the Blanding City Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
