Jack Poer

Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandad, and great-grandad, Jack Dean Poer, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Santaquin, Utah, on August 26, 2026, with his dear wife, Deloris, by his side. He will be deeply and sorely missed.

Jack will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for his family, his generosity and kindness, and his rock-solid faith in Jesus Christ.

Born May 17, 1934, to George and Nola Earl Poer in White River, Navajo County, Arizona, he grew up with his 2 siblings, Jodeen and Dennis. He loved the outdoors and the freedom he had to roam among the hills and trees, often forgetting to tell anyone where he was going. He loved music, books, cars, his shop, fishing, sports, food, travel, and building projects, but most of all, he loved his family.

He married his dear wife, Deloris Faye Lundblade, in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 27, 1972. Together they brought four children into the world.

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jack served a full-time mission in the Southern States Mission. Throughout his life, he continued to serve in many ways, including as a home teacher, librarian, Cub Scout leader, stake baptism coordinator, and service missionary with his wife at the Mosida Pioneer Trek. There, he became known as the “fix-it man,” using his building skills to make handcarts, stilts, and whatever else was needed, and to fix just about anything that was broken.

Jack served quietly in so many ways. He helped neighbors with building projects, befriended the friendless, listened without judgment to anyone who wanted to talk, fixed countless bike chains, helped care for his father-in-law and sister-in-law, and had a remarkable gift for making everyone he met feel comfortable, welcome, and loved. He never sought recognition for the things he did. He just did it.

Before passing, Jack forged a 92-year trail of laughter, generosity, compassion, faith, and wisdom. His life was a gift to all who knew him, and his influence will continue through the many lives he touched.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Deloris; his brother, Dennis, and sister, Jodeen; his four children, Rayetta (Adrian), David (Neysa), Kristin (Zack), and Tom (Jayme); his 13 grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; and the many family members, friends, neighbors, and others who were blessed to know him.

A reception with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 350 West 860 North, Santaquin, Utah.
