Joshua Dean Higham

Joshua Dean Higham, 46, of American Fork, Utah, passed away on November 6, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Josh was a caring, kind, and loving person who brought joy to everyone around him. He made friends everywhere he went. A true man’s man, he could most often be found with a hammer in hand, using his power tools, and wearing his trusty tool belt filled with tools, pens, markers, keys, and, of course, cookies and candy in each pocket. He was generous, always ready to share, and he loved the simple joys in life—hot dogs, pizza, and his favorite, Pepsi, which he fondly called his “blue one.”

Josh loved mowing lawns, working on Jeeps, throwing rocks in the river, celebrating Halloween, and looking forward to Santa Claus every year. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his days with friends at Live Empowered, where he was a valued member of their community. The family is deeply grateful to Project Turn and Live Empowered for their support and guidance in helping Josh grow and learn.

He cherished Saturdays with his family, following a very special routine: going on rides with his dad, watching “the man with the carts,” getting a blue one, picking up lunch, mowing the lawn, and then relaxing on the back deck with his loved ones while listening to The Beatles.

He is survived by his father, Lynn, and mother, Kathleen; his sisters, Jami (Davy) Houle and Kristin (Aaron) Walters; nieces Cedar and Melinda; nephews Tanner, Davy, and Robbie; his grandmother, Pauline; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him; and his “second parents,” Karen and Leroy Kerr, Alyson and Todd Campbell, and Tucker and Courtney Andersen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, including Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Delmar Higham, Grandpa Ralph Larsen, and Grandpa Rex Brailsford.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, November 15, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 270 N 900 E, American Fork, Utah. He will be interred at the American Fork Cemetery.
