Lloyd Taylor Penrod

Lloyd Taylor Penord was born September 11, 1932 to Lloyd Asel and Amelia Babera Taylor (1910-1940) (he was raised by Irma Chole). He lived in Elberta Utah on the Sandhill. He passed away from natural causes on  Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  

He is survived by his wife Marie Penrod, Allen,(Barbara) brother, his children, Tammy Tippetts (Bret), Deanna Riding (Brian), Janice Morris, Tyler Penrod (LeighAnn), Terry Penrod (Jody), Darius Penrod (Pam), Darin Penrod, Daniel Penrod, Babera McFerson (Albert), Helen Crowther (James), David Penrod (Serena), Camille Grimstead (Jordan) and his many grand and great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Jean Atkien, Faye Ryan, and Oliver Penrod.  His daughter in law Pam Penrod, and grandchildren William Miller.

Lloyd married Marie Stapley in Manti Temple, Manti Utah, on November 21,1958.  He has twelve children, 93 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lloyd served in the United States Army in Hawaii. He served in Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all his callings.  

He was a farmer since he was a little boy farming with his dad.  He continued farming his whole life.  He was a  beef, dairy, pig, and dry farmer.  He loved the land.  Lloyd’s favorite song was “Don’t Fence Me In.” Lloyd loved animals of all kinds from birds, bunnies to goats and llamas, emus and fallow deer.  He had his own petting zoo.  He enjoyed riding his favorite horse “Georgia”  He also worked at Little Giant Ladder for 19 years.

Lloyd loved to be with his family. He would make many things for his children and grandchildren from basketball courts, tether ball, merry go rounds, trampolines, swings of all kinds and baseball machines. He also enjoyed preparing the sandpile for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren where hours of playing was enjoyed. He enjoyed playing games and puzzles with his children too. 

Lloyd was loved by his family and they loved working with him. Lloyd loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held  Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 11:00 am at Elberta LDS Church, 12800 W. 15300 S. Elberta, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 6:00 - 7:30 at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 S. 300 E. Santaquin and from 10:00 - 10:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment burial will be at Goshen City Cemetery.
