Marcee was born January 8, 1993 in San Luis Obispo, California and lived there until she was three years old. She then moved with her parents to Lake Shore, Utah where she spent her childhood and adolescent life.
Her contagious smile would light up every room she entered and her hugs were famous. She loved the outdoors and especially loved spending time at her family’s cabin property with loved ones. She met her husband Jake while they both worked at the Family Tree restaurant in Santaquin. They were married September 17, 2011 in Payson and were later sealed in the Provo City Center temple in December of 2018. They were blessed with four wonderful children and spent most of their time living in Genola.
Marcee worked at Payson Market and was loved by everyone she met and worked with because they immediately knew she cared. She loved animals and had a soft spot for the hurt or disabled, often nursing many different kinds of animals back to health. She ended every conversation with “what can we do to help you?” and she really meant it. This continued throughout her long stay in the hospital – always putting others needs before her own. Her positive attitude lifted everyone around her.
She and Jake both volunteered at the Genola fire department, then she spent countless hours studying for certifications to be an EMT and a firefighter. She worked for Payson and Santaquin EMT/Fire crews until she was too sick to continue. She loved helping people in need.
Marcee is survived by her husband Jacob and their children Ellie, Max, Gracee and Hyrum. Parents Rusty and Molly Clayson of Lake Shore, brothers Bucket, Ray and sister Ashley. In laws Stuart and Kathryn Nelson of Genola and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Santaquin City Center on January 8th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Goshen Stake Center 987 South Anna Ekins Lane, Genola on January 9th 10:00 a.m.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff on the 9th floor @ Utah Valley Hospital, the first responder community and their communities in Genola and Lake Shore.
