Marjorie Christensen

Marjorie Blanche Painter Christensen, 85, returned to the waiting arms of her Savior on August 22, 2007. She was born February 4, 1922, in Austin, Utah the daughter of Frank Nelson and Emma Augusta Peterson Painter. Marjorie grew up in Santaquin and attended school in Monroe, Santaquin, and Payson. She married Michael Beveridge Christensen September 14, 1940 in Santaquin. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 26, 1952. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and the Relief Society and other auxiliaries. She also served as a temple ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple with her husband for several years. Marjorie is survived by her children, Glenys (Lynn) McKell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dennis (Cheryl) Christensen of Sandy, and Emilee Christensen of Santaquin; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lucille Painter of Santaquin. She was preceded in death by her husband and a great grandson, Kevin Rich. The family extends special thanks to all the friends and neighbors for their loving support. Appreciation is also extended to Dr. E. William Leroy and his staff for their kind and faithful medical care. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Santaquin 9th Ward LDS Chapel, 545 North 200 East. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, and Tuesday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
