Mary Lee Boswell

Mary Lee Selman Boswell passed away on December 20, 2025, in Delta, Utah. She was born on January 27, 1933, in Benjamin, Utah, and graduated from Payson High School.

She married William Garth Boswell on February 13, 1953, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. They made their home in Goshen, Utah, where they raised their family. Mary Lee supported her husband in his ranching business and also worked alongside her daughters in the apple and cherry orchards.

In 1961, Mary Lee joined the Singing Mothers, which began with 16 singers and performed in many communities, including the prison. Six years later, the group became known as the Goshenettes, continuing to share music and joy with others.

Mary Lee was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her fashionable style, her love of shopping, and her dedication to making sure her children were well dressed. She especially loved Christmas and had a funny sense of humor. She deeply loved her cats, who were her constant companions.

Her husband, William Garth Boswell, preceded her in death on October 14, 2014.

She is survived by her children: Julie (Russell) Rogers, Pam (Kris) Morgan, Karrie (Steve) Bateman, Mary Jane (Rick) Ashcroft, William (Sherrie) Boswell, and Michelle (David) Howlett; 34 grandchildren; and 82 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings LaRay Selman, Beth Cannon, Dorothy Spainhower, Barbara James, Bud Selman, Dick Selman, Frank Selman, Georgia Boyer, Patsy Mullins, and Joan VanLeuuwen; her grandsons, Jesse Taylor and Jake Rogers; and her great-grandchildren, Oaklee Howlett and Seth Rogers.

Funeral services will be held on December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elberta LDS Church, located at 12800 W 15300 S, Elberta, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the same location. The interment will follow at the Goshen Cemetery, located at 10500 W 15800 S, Goshen, Utah.
