Michael Cruz

Michael Douglas Cruz, better known as "Cruzzer", passed away at his home in Santaquin surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the age of 58. Michael was born April 21, 1951 in Los Angeles, California to Bessie Kitchens and Dionesto Cruz, the youngest of 12 children. He grew up in California with his brother Tim and nephew Steve. He met Rhea Chaffee in October of 1972 and they were married February 3, 1973. They moved to Santaquin in 1981 where he worked for Santaquin City for 23 years. He was kind-hearted and such a jokester and made everyone laugh and smile. He was loved and will be missed very much. Michael is survived by his wife, Rhea, 8 children, Christina, Joe (Jessica), Catherine, Caryn, Jon, Candice (Dan), Camber and Cece; a sister Terrie and a brother Butch; tons of family and friends and many grandchildren and great grandchildren to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, granddaughters, Taevia, Kathryn and Brooklyn. Services will be held Wednesday, November 11th at 11:00 am at the Old Santaquin Stake Center, 90 South 200 East, where family will greet friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Burial will be in the Santaquin Cemetery.
