Nelda Leifson

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Nelda Mae Rutherford Leifson, age 70 of Goshen, Utah passed away Monday February 18, 2008 in Payson, Utah. She was born January 9, 1938 to George Nephi and Isabell Marie Olsen Rutherford of Standardville, Utah. She graduated from Carbon High school. She married the love of her life, George Lee Leifson November 3, 1956 in Price, Utah. They made their life in Mapleton and Santaquin where she raised seven wonderful children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many callings and was a devoted visiting teacher. Mom was loving, caring and devoted to her family. She loved spending time with each and every one of us making sure every one was taken care of. There wasn't anything mom wouldn't do for us. Nelda was employed at Signetics for many years and made many life-long friends. She also was a greeter at Walmart, a position she really enjoyed. She loved greeting the patrons and visiting with them. Survivors include five children, Lee (Brenda) Leifson of Nephi, Lynn (Sabra) Leifson of St. George, Lisa (Max) Kay of Santaquin, Larry (Terrie) Leifson of Oakley, and Lyle Leifson of Draper; 17 Grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great andchild; two brothers, Leo (Joan) Rutherford of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Clyde Rutherford of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son Lloyd Leifson, a daughter Leslie Kaye Leifson Warner, and a grandson Jason Fox. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Goshen LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Santaquin City Cemetery. We love you mom and we will miss you.
