Nelda Rose Peterson Mitchell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away July 26th, 2022 from several lifelong ailments. She courageously fought many health challenges throughout her lifetime.
Nelda was born June 11, 1946 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Ralph F. and Florence G. Neff Peterson. She was the youngest of 4 children. She attended Santaquin Elementary School, Payson High School and Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander, WY.
While attending High School in Lander she met, married, and later divorced, James D. Nelson. Together they had a daughter, Tamara Lee Nelson (Bradley) Hiskey. Nelda married Douglas Alan Richardson in 1972. Together they had 2 sons, Dirk Alan and Craig Royce (Shantell) Richardson. They were later divorced. In 1991 Nelda married Alan Ellison Mitchell. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple. Alan preceded her in death.
Nelda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several callings over the years.
She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, sons, daughter-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Jill Peterson Snell and several nieces and nephews. Nelda was proceeded in death by her parents, Florence and Ralph Peterson; brothers, Keith (infant brother), Rex D. and Max Peterson. She missed her deceased family terribly. Their reunion must be wonderful and joyous. She will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santaquin North Stake Center, 545 North 200 East. Family and friends may call Sunday July 31, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East Santaquin, and also Monday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Santaquin City Cemetery.
