Paul Callaway

Paul Wonless Callaway, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many, returned to his Heavenly Father on August 17, 2026 at the age of 87. Born on 25 December 1938 in Santaquin, Utah, Paul’s life was marked by his deep faith, love for his family, and service to others as a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Growing up in Santaquin and Payson, Utah, Paul built a legacy filled with love, resilience, and generosity. Paul had the opportunity to work several jobs. In his early years, he worked on his grandfather’s farm, later as a Santaquin Police officer, long hall truck driver, a custodian, and ran his own cafe in Mona Utah. He worked tirelessly and was respected by all who knew him. His church and community service reflected his unwavering faith and commitment to following Christ’s teachings. Whether he was fulfilling a calling, working on genealogy, lending a listening ear, or simply being a friend, Paul’s kindness and compassion were felt by all who knew him. Paul found joy in fishing, camping, hunting, yard work, and serving others, especially his family. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was always seeking to uplift others and make a difference in their lives. Paul’s gentle humor, strong moral compass, and warmth brought comfort and encouragement to everyone who knew him.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Schmidt Callaway of 54 years, his children, Gary (Lisa) Johnson, Donna (Brad) Hansen, Ginger (Rob) Mix, Christine (Mike) Adamson, Zelma Nelson, And Ida Kay (Joesph) Brown. He had 26 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Wonless and Ida Callaway, hIs parents-in-laws, Gene and Zelma Tolman, his son-in-law Joshua “E” Nelson, a grandson, Braxton Bassett, and a great granddaughter, Addie Fausett. He is now joyfully reunited with those loved ones on the other side of the veil.
