VerlDene (Deanie) Greaves Peery, wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Payson, Utah in the early morning hours of Dec. 24, 2011. She was born Sept. 21, 1928 to Wallace Petersen and Jane Louise Blain Greaves in Ephraim, Utah. She married Lynn Allen (Sam) Peery in Santaquin on March 1, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Feb. 24, 2001. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past March.

Mom loved spending time with her family and looked forward to visits with her many grandchildren. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a family get together. Mom and Dad also enjoyed many years together wintering with close friends in St. George.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lynn (Sam), Payson, Daughter, Jane Dietz, Kings Beach, CA, son, Hal J (Rebecca), and daughters, Ann Stewart, Joan (Rick) Greenhow and Sue (Kent) Hone, all of Payson. Sisters, Carol (Tom) Yadon, OR and Joyce (Bob) Valdez, CA. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a brother, Blain, a grandson, Ryan Neal, a great-grandson, Jory Archuleta and a son in law, Doug Stewart.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of A Plus Home Health and Hospice and Dr. William LeRoy for the compassionate care they provided to our wife and mother.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holladay-Brown Funeral Home where a viewing will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27th, 6-8 p.m. at 66 S. 300 E. Santaquin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28th at the Mountain View Fifth Ward Chapel at 789 E Arrowhead Trail (700 N) in Payson at 11 a.m., with a viewing at this location from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery (400 N. 800 E.)
