Diane Santos

Diane Virginia Santos passed away at home in Genola, Utah at the age of 66, on Nov. 17, 2021. Diane is survived by sisters, Louann (Marc) Stureman, Vivian Cross, Susie (Gerry) Dickey. Sister-in-laws, Mary Jane (Richard) Santos, Joy (John) Santos. Nieces; Amy Jo Santos, Eve Cross, Samantha (Santos) Gawerys. Nephews; Ian Dickey, Christ Sharp, Scott Santos, and Jeff Santos.

Diane was born in San Jose, Santa Clara Co. California on July 15, 1955, to Manuel and Evelyn Santos. She was raised in Santa Cruz, Calif. In 1979, she and two of her sisters moved to Lehi, Utah. Her parents, empty nesters, bought a home in American Fork In 1980.

Family that preceded her in death: Parents; Manuel and Evelyn Santos. Brothers; Richard, Mark, and John. Niece; Jennifer Dickey.

Diane lived her life serving others. She was an excellent cook, and when she heard of someone in need,  would surprise them with a delicious meal.

She was a loving and dutiful daughter helping to care for her elderly parents. She was a blessing and a gift to her sister Susie’s family, being a hands on Aunt, helping in whatever way she could to care for her special needs niece and nephew.

She had a outstanding work ethic. Believed that no matter the job, it should be done to the best of her ability. In spite of years of crippling, and painful health issues, she pushed forward determined to not let her physical hardships keep her from being of service to others, and living a “shoulder to the wheel” kind of life. She was an example strength, of never giving up, and a good attitude, in spite of her personal hardships.

She never lost a desire to learn new things, and had a love of trivia. She loved to visit, and loved to tell people her family stories, and Portuguese family history.

She was a cross stitch artist, and enjoyed surprising family or friends with a beautifully framed pieces of her hand work.

Diane was a gift to all those she loved, family and friends. Always feeling the need to lighten someone’s burden. She is deeply loved, greatly missed.

Due to current circumstances there will not be a public viewing or service. Services will be held virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm. (Zoom link provided below) Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
