Janet Carter

December 5, 1936 — November 28, 2021

On November 28th just before her 85th Birthday, Janet Norine Carter left this mortal life. She returned to her Heavenly Father while her children and their spouses gathered around her bedside.

Our beloved mother was born December 5, 1936 to Delbert Andrew Jensen and Winona Finch Jensen. She married her eternal companion Alan Maurice Carter on July 9th, 1954 in the Manti Temple. About 10 years later they bought a farm in Genola and mom’s dream came true. They worked hand in hand together on the farm and later started milking dairy cows. They also owned the Genola Mercantile. Mother loved animals, gardening, flowers and horse riding. She could run any piece of farm equipment and never tipped over a load of hay! She baked beautiful bread, kept a tidy house, had the whitest wash in town and ironed everything. Mom served in many callings in the church, her favorite was working in the Provo Temple with our Dad.

Mom had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and her personality brought us all much joy and fun times! Family getting along meant everything to her, with her spunky personality, we knew we had better do just that! Mom has so missed her loved ones that have gone before her, what a beautiful reunion it must be! Our lives will forever be changed and there will be a big void without her. We love you mom.

She is survived by her 5 living children and her sister Debra Hone. Her Children are; Sheila (Hale) Robison, Alan D. (Cindy) Carter, Karen (Roy) Staheli, Christine (Frank) Tervort, Justin (Rachelle) Carter; all living in Genola. She has 31 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alan Carter, son Michael Carter, brother Dee Ray Jensen, 2 great grandchildren; Jordan Wells and Traeden McPherson.

A viewing will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East Santaquin, Utah. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the Genola Church, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Interment will be at the Goshen City Cemetery.
