John Johnson

May 15, 1963 — July 10, 2020

John Edward Johnson, age 57 of Goshen, passed away Friday July 10, 2020. John, better known as Eddie, was born in Payson May 15, 1963 to Reva Steele and Vern Johnson. He grew up in Goshen where he attended Goshen Elementary and later graduated from Payson High School. He married Cynthia G. Holman in January of 1982,

Eddie was a member of 4H and enjoyed working with horses and cattle, He worked as a ranch hand throughout his childhood and into his adult years. He served in the military from 1980 to 1987 accomplishing Ranger school and Airborne training that he was proud of.

Uncle Eddie was well known by the younger nieces and nephews for handing out his change and later to his grandchildren. He also had a great love for the outdoors, cars, motorcycles and ATVs. He loved to hunt, fish and to go camping. He also loved drawing, mechanic work and hanging out with his kids and grandkids, He loved riding his side by side with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his mother Reva Steele Shoell; his siblings, Kendal Johnson, Penny Kinross, Steve Johnson and Todd Johnson; his children John (Susan) Johnson, Jayson (Tara) Johnson and Bryan (Jessica) Johnson; and his grandkids, Ayden Tratos, Vincent Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Audree Johnson. He's joined in death by his grandma Lilian Dodds Steele, grandpa Leonard Steele, uncle Leonard Eugene Steele, and sisters Cheryl Adams and Rebecca Johnson.

His children would like to thank the Santaquin Police and EMS, and the Utah County Sheriffs for their quick response and the efforts they put in and the care shown to the family.

A viewing will be held Friday, July 17th at the Goshen LDS Church, 75 South Center Street, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Following health department guidelines, masks and social distancing are encouraged for those attending. If unable to attend, please share a condolence or memory for the family.
