Kathleen D. Richins Howard
Kathy was born May 4, 1947 in Murray, Utah to Warren Ford Richins and Clare Boyce Heiner Richins. She was middle child of 7 children. She met her best friend for life, Eileen Gonzales, as a baby and they continued to be best of friends throughout her life. Kathy attended Lincoln Elementary School, Granite Park Junior High School and Granite High School. She was secretary of Granite Park Junior High School in 9th grade. She met the love of her life and married Charles Erven Howard March 27, 1964. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple March 27, 1974. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings, Primary, Sunday School Teacher, and Relief Society Visiting Teacher and Minister. She babysat as a young girl for 5 cents per hour, she worked at the original Iceberg Drive In, S&H Green Stamps Redemption Center, Manager at Hickory Farms and Monroe Elementary School. She served on the PTA. She’s lived in Murray, Taylorsville, Central Valley and Orem, Utah. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great grandmother and a friend to all who came in contact with her. She will be truly missed.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Ford Richins and Clare Boyce Heiner Richins, three brothers, Bert, Jack, Greg and her sister Karleen. She is survived by her husband Charles Erven Howard, her children, Derek Howard (Julia), Deana Hill (Dennis), Darow Howard (Stephanie), Dee Howard and two daughters-in-law, Shannan and Lisa, her siblings, Jim, Brad and her grandchildren, Lauren (Cody), Landon (Rachel), Austin (Jessica), Hayden, Jaden (Jacob), Jayce (Tamy), Jordi, Harlie, AJ, Zane, Brayden, Oakley, Tayson, Chelsi, Madison and her great grandchildren, Jack, Oaklyn, Lucy, Brynn and Bryton.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Orem City Cemetery.
