Norma Nelson

March 30, 1941 — May 1, 2022

Norma Marie Nelson, died May 1, 2022 in Santaquin, Utah.  She was born March 30, 1941 to Robert (Pete) and Thelma Long in Eureka, Utah. She married Ron Nelson on June 17, 1961. She leaves behind her husband, daughters Teresa (Andy), Sherry (Bruce), grandchildren Derrick, Angela, Nick, Emilee, Bobby, and eight beautiful great grandchildren.

Norma was a homemaker who took great pride in a clean home and a beautiful yard. She baked, cleaned and supported her kids in all their activities. Norma graduated from Tintic High School in 1981 after going back to school to finish her high school diploma.  She had a “can do” spirit and always encouraged and applauded her children and grand children’s accomplishments.

Norma enjoyed camping and was especially excited when they traded in the old sheep wagon for a brand new Rancho El Rae trailer. She enjoyed deer hunting at Lee’s Canyon, fishing at Fish Lake and just kicking back.  Golfing and traveling with friends was something she enjoyed later in life.  She spent many hours having coffee and visiting with her sister Colleen and other friends.

She always had a smile on her face and a cute giggle that made you feel happy inside whenever you would talk to her.  Norma was patient, meek and humble, full of love, soft spoken, and she was a nervous nelly,

Grandchildren will forever cherish the time they spent on New Year’s banging pots and pans.  She was their cheerleader at every event she attended and loved them unconditionally.  She will be missed at the Nelson Family Reunions, the monthly dinner gatherings, and Christmas weekend.

Norma was preceded in death by son Lee, her parents, sisters Colleen and Gen, and brother Gary.  Survived by her sister Pat. The family would like to thank Seasons of Santaquin for their love and kindness shown to Mom during the past six months. Thank you to the Hospice nurse Staci for taking such great care of Mom during her last days. Thank you also to the Brown Family Mortuary and Mark Brown for their compassion and concern.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Elks Lodge in Eureka with visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m.  A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 8th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Brown Family Mortuary in Santaquin.
