Sandra Hatch

June 13, 1971 — December 15, 2021

Maria Sandra Hatch was born June 13, 1971. She was born in San Miguel-Tucuman, Argentina.  She is the daughter of Hilda Gonzalez and Francisco Horacio Ruiz.

Sandra graduated from the National University of Tucuman in 1991.  There, she learned about the gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. From the day of her baptism into the Church, she had a desire to serve a mission. In 1993 – 1995, she realized that dream to serve the Lord as a missionary in the Argentina Mendoza mission.  She served faithfully for 18-months, where she was known for her great love for her fellow man and her tremendous empathy.

In 2001, Sandra emigrated to the United States in search of her dreams, an eternal family. This dream led her to meet Lee Hatch in 2006. Lee was the man that would help her realize her dream of an eternal family.  The were married in August 2006. Together, they worked hard to go to the temple. In 2009, Sandra, Lee, and their two little ones--Thomas and Jesus Jose (JJ), were sealed for time and eternity, as an eternal family in the Salt Lake City temple.

Sandra’s life focus was her family. She diligently strived in caring and protecting them. She was full of love. Taking care of her family was her primary focus, but she was also dedicated to maintaining relationships with her parents, siblings, and the many loved ones in the US and Argentina.

Her early departure leaves the love of her life Lee Merrill Hatch and her sons Thomas Lee Hatch and Jesus Jose Hatch. She leaves her extended family: Claudia, Isabel, Rozana, and her brother Jesus Ruiz.  In addition, her brothers-in-law: Myriam, Andrian Juan Carlos, her Nices Mariela, Mayra, Naomi, Luana, Alahi. Lee’s 8 siblings, spouse’s, and many more nieces and nephews… this list would be very long to name all of those left with a broken heart at her passing.

Sandra’s life was full of compassion and service. She worked as a nurse at the Hospital Del Nino Jesus for 9-years in Argentina. She demonstrated Christ’s example of love, charity, and patience toward children and the older children. Sandra worked in Utah in elderly care facilities, where she demonstrated those same qualities demonstrated by the Savior.

Sandra was passionate about chasing her dreams. She has been dedicated to the care of her family and helping whomever she could. Her mission in life was clear--to extend a hand of love and compassion to those in need. She did this with countless letters, acts of kindness for those in need; she is truly a great example of a selfless person.

Sandra was met with open arms by her parents, her father-in-law, and her little brother. Her parents are surely happy to be reunited with their first born where they have prepared her heavenly mansion that has been started by her actions throughout these 50-years of early life.

Families are eternal! Until we meet again dear Sandra.
