Victoria Button

Vicki Fowkes Button, our dear mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on September 6, 2019.  Vicki was born on July 26, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Gerald V. and Elma Fowkes.

Vicki was a graduate of the Payson, Utah High School Class of 1964. She also studied at Utah State University, eventually graduating from the secretarial program at Stevens-Henager College. She subsequently worked for 31 years at Hartvigsen Elementary School, located in Taylorsville, Utah. She truly loved the children at the school, and Vicki always had candy on her desk for the kids to enjoy.

Most importantly, Vicki was a doting mother and grandmother, always putting the needs and desires of her family above her own. Her joy was found in the smiles of her grandchildren, of whom she was sure could do no wrong. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Vicki also enjoyed going to movies, reading, traveling when she could, playing cards on Sunday, and learning about those around her.  Vicki was always curious about everyone and loved when they would share their lives with her. She will be dearly missed by all her knew her.

Vicki is survived by two children, Jesica Mickelsen (Mark) and Jason Button (Nichole); siblings, Greg Fowkes and Stephen Fowkes (Renee); and four grandchildren (Madison, Chase, Gracie, and Paislee).  She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Becky Preston.

The family is thankful for the love and care she received at Parkway Health Center and for the care she received from the doctors who helped her fight her health challenges for so long.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Santaquin Cemetery, located at 100 East 300 South, Santaquin, UT 84655.
